Achieve Higher Levels In Any Language - Not Just For Now

If you're working on learning a language by yourself, you'll know that traditional classroom learning does not work for many learners in the real world. But the language learning world is full of crazy promises: "Become fluent in weeks!", "Learn a Language in Your Sleep!", "Talk to Natives Every Waking Hour!".

But for you, this isn't about getting more done faster.

You want to feel confident and fluent in your target language for life, to discover the world through new eyes and make friends in other countries. You want to make language a part of your life.

I regularly hear from language learners who want nothing more than to find a routine that's regular and happy, but here's what they tell me:

> "My learning boosts are really sporadic and I just can't seem to commit"

> "I have spent so much money on new resources, but I see no progress"

> "I am already doing well, and now I have no idea where to go next."

If those thoughts sound familiar to you, talking to a language coach will help you.

It was enormously helpful to discuss how I learn (and perhaps more importantly - how I don’t) with Kerstin.
Instead of hearing the same old regurgitated advice - “you have to do X or you’re not studying properly” - I came away with dozens of ideas for new approaches to experiment with, and specific insights into my strengths and weaknesses.
I’d highly recommend Kerstin for anybody bored or frustrated with their current approach to language learning.

I Can Help You Discover How To Learn Best

As an expert who is learning her 9th language and has been teaching languages for years, I want you to discover exactly what it takes to learn a language to a high standard.

What happens in a Session?

Here's a quick summary of what you can expect in the session, depending on where your priorities are:

  • I will ask smart questions and practice active listening to pinpoint very clearly where your challenges are, and how we can start working on addressing them
  • I will create your skills and styles profile to help you understand how you learn best
  • You will think about your language studies and current level in a new way
  • You will be guided through a reflective review process to understand your current language learning methods, and how they can work better for you

We'll create a system that makes language learning fun for you, and support you with some awesome resources that will keep you repeating and learning more words than ever before.

With such a large investment in your future, it pays to be smart about planning and committing to a project that will reward you for every minute and dollar you put in.

Coaching is more than just teaching you a language. In my 5 years of private tuition and running group classes with global student groups, I learnt one important thing:

Languages cannot be taught. It is always YOU who learns.

This is an investment that will pay off for years to come as you commit to making your target language a part of your daily routine, and learn how to establish that regular, happy routine you've been dreaming about.

What Language Coaching Did For Marissa

Here's a story from my language coaching client Marissa, who came to me as she was wondering how to perfect her Spanish and where to go next.

🎉 I bit the bullet and signed up for #languagecoaching with @kerstin_fluent and first of all ~not to fan girl~ but she is maybe even lovelier and smarter in real life than she is on the show. Topics we covered in my first 3 sessions were:
.
🎉 Why am I so upset about my accent?
.
🎉 Will I always feel like an outsider in a second-language context?
.
🎉 Why can’t I express myself even with all of this grammar and vocab?
.
🎉 Why isn’t “fluent” good enough for me?
.
🎉 What do I do now that I’ve reached my goal but I’m not happy?
.
🎉 What do I personally need NOW, no matter what teachers or language schools think I need?
.
🎉 And I finally have some answers!!!!!! I feel like these have all been touched on in The Fluent Show but I just needed someone who knows what I was personally going through because they’ve tackled these questions themselves. My language teachers couldn’t do that and neither could my therapist, but Kerstin is total combo of both.
.
🎉 Little confetti emoji because I’m just feeling SO GOOD about where I am right now and where I’m headed. I feel like I finally escaped my linguistic and emotional plateau and have such an awesome language summer ahead of me 🌴📚🥂

FAQ

What's the difference between coaching/mentoring and tutoring?

Simply put, a mentoring partnership is about your individual methods and skills. I won't tell you what to do, instead I will help you discover your own potential to achieve your goals exactly. Language mentoring/coaching focuses on you and your own personal situation, so it's perfect for you if you want to discover what will suit your personality and language background. I refrain from giving direct advice but of course you'll benefit from me as a mentor during our sessions and I'll share all the knowledge you need with you.

What language level do I need for this?

I will work with you no matter if you're a total beginner or you're preparing for the advanced stages of language learning. All you need to bring is an open mind, a bag of questions, and the desire to find your personal path to fluency.

Do you offer exam coaching?

In my sessions we will focus on preparation techniques, success psychology, effective study, and prepare you thoroughly for language exams. But note that I do not offer language tutoring. I have worked with students from all kind of backgrounds who achieved A* grades from top universities as well as passes with disctinction in their target language exams.

I'm not sure about committing to this. What should I do?

Did you know that you can try out my approach and methods through self-paced online courses? Check them out here

You know yourself best and it is always a wise choice to opt for developing those skills.

I don't want you to stay unsure and worried about your progress for too long, so I hope that one of these options will turn out just perfect for you.

All the best,

Kerstin

I found Kerstin’s language coaching sessions very valuable and I would definitely recommend her to other language learners.

Bring all your questions and concerns and ideas to really unpack your thoughts and to get excited about taking your language learning to the next level or in new directions (or both!).

Before the session I was imagining that I would leave with an intense learning schedule or something, but I feel like i got so much more than that (and really I’m glad that I didn’t get a schedule). I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t be “helpable” since I was so indecisive with my goals and couldn’t find my purpose for learning languages, but Kerstin definitely proved my fears wrong within the first few minutes.

I feel like I got more than what I had set out for. I feel so much peace with French now (which is huge!!!) and I have a direction that I want to go in for everything else. Although I’m indecisive about future languages, I don’t feel guilty about them like I used to. I now feel more curious than anything, and within my “I dunno what I want to do” I’m still able to take action and go with the flow.
